Sandy’s Wedding

A very notable wedding gift!

A very dear friend of mine who resides in Texas was invited to the wedding of two of her friend’s this past year & they both are rural, home loving people who met because of the church they attended, their mutual love of animals and horses and the farming life. He grows and cuts, bales, and sells hay. She is a large animal veterinarian, and they have horses together as well as other livestock.

My friend: Sandy had been following my progress of launching my website, Z Bar Designs, LLC, “embellished horseshoes with flair!” & immediately thought her present for them would be a combination of horseshoes, barbed wire, beads of their wedding colors and trinkets to symbolize the beginning of their married life.  Sandy sent me the colors and the date of their wedding, and our creation was collaborative and fun!

I began with two horseshoes. One for him and one for her! I chose the piece of Mesquite wood & treated it with tung oil and began choosing the beads. Sandy approved and the creation began!

This is the photo of the finished piece and Sandy said they were “honored” to have a one-of-a-kind wedding present hung in their home symbolizing their new life together.

The piece was 20” long and 14” & it graces their new farm home.
